Breast Cancer AwarenessThank you

We wanted to extend a big thank you to everyone in Eastern Idaho who has participated in fundraising activities geared towards the early detection, treatment, and cure of breast cancer. As you hopefully know, the proceeds from the annual Run for the Cure event go towards providing free mammography/ultrasound vouchers to women who qualify for preventative health services. Since 2007, $50,724.98 has been raised and 374 women have been served. This would not be possible except for the tremendous efforts of the community, health care providers, private businesses, and various other organizations. Many lives have been saved through your generosity.

The health district is committed to maintaining these outreach and education efforts. This year, Run for the Cure is scheduled for Saturday, October 3 at Freeman Park in Idaho Falls. Information about this event can be found here.

The health district also accepts donations for the free mammography/ultrasound voucher program. If you would like to make a donation or see if you qualify for the voucher program, please contact Rachel Tweedie at 208-533-3198 or rtweedie@EIPH.Idaho.gov.
